Lt Col. Sam (Jnr) made these remarks at the presentation of 200 litter bins, ‘T’ shirts and products by Fan Milk Limited to the Second Battalion at Myohaung Barracks Apremdo, Takoradi in the Western Region.
The programme, jointly organized by the GNASBA and Fan Milk Limited was under the Theme “Help Keep Ghana Clean: Our Surroundings”
Lt Col George K. T. Sam (Jnr) said the theme was very timely and appropriate because of the filth engulfing schools and communities which needed urgent attention.
Mr. Kwasi Attuah, National Sales Manager, Fan Milk Limited, announced that, the company’s social intervention packages are extended to all places where they do business.
He said over the past 22 years, the company had been engaging schools, and colleges and the communities to educate them on waste management practices and sustained maximum cleanliness with the litter bins distributed to them.
He commended the hard work and sacrifices made by the country’s security agencies to help sustain peace and security for business development.
Baffour Akwasi Oppong, national chairman GNASBA, said the theme had been chosen for 2016 to intensify the efforts of government’s national sanitation education campaigns to help ensure safe and clean surrounding for good health.
