The Paramount Chief of Bongo traditional area, Naba Baba Salifu Aleemyarum, has appealed to the government to open a college of education in the area.

The Chief, who made the appeal during the Bongo District Assembly’s Meet the Press yesterday, said considering the declining standards of education in the area, there was the need to establish a college to train more teachers.

He said the Traditional Council and the people of Bongo were ready to provide land for the project because one of the major problems that accounted for the poor standards of education in the area was lack of professional teachers.

Indeed, if the building is not renovated before the heavy rains set in, the pupils would be in danger, and the country may lose its future leaders.
