Over the next several months, I was blessed with quite a number of opportunities to make myself useful to the company, and to learn about the property business. Noticing that a good part of the work at the office depended on current, reliable information, I made it my business to establish links with the relevant people and agencies, and they were always helpful.

This was really appreciated by the senior consultants. I also gained valuable contacts and information about the property market, especially the going rate for lands and houses, and reliable methods of securing property documents. I also found time to go round the lands and houses that seemed idle, and collected information on the owners and their agents. I spoke to some people who were in the business of developing residential properties for sale. They mentioned some really frightening figures, but I remembered my Nkoranza experience, and resolved to get round the problem of price, one way or the other.
