REVERED football administrator John Frederick Mensah says he will do everything in his power to ensure Ghanaian footballers are put on a pensiom scheme by their clubs.
“I know it’s been difficult for most clubs with regard to funding and that’s why many players have not been put on a pension scheme. But I would do my best to assist the clubs in soliciting for sponsorship for that purpose in due course,” he asserted.
Mr. Mensah, who said he was working closely with the Professionals Footballers Association (PFA) to execute that vision, disclosed these in an interview with The Spectator Sports, shortly after being elected into the Executive Committee (Exco) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Tuesday.
“I’m highly elated for this opportunity and I thank all who in diverse ways supported my cause,” he said, insisting that he would bring his experience to bear in the Exco as far as the future of Ghana football is concerned.
