OLA Ho Girls Senior High School has celebrated its 62nd Speech and Prize- Giving Day on Saturday, February 27.

The theme for the celebration was: “Supporting the active involvement of girls in technology to bridge the inclusion gap.”

Mrs. Afawubo Twum-Ampofi, a communications engineer and a former student of the school, in an address said, while it was proper for girls to be users of technology, it was  important to encourage them to become enablers of technology.

She said current job opening trends in technology were skewed towards enablers who designed and programmed tools for users.

The Rotary Club of Accra-East and Rotary Club, Ikoyi-Metro District 9110, has donated sanitary items and stationery worth Gh¢ 6,000 to pupils of the Islamic Training Institute Basic School at Kanda.

The donation was to aid the pupils in their studies and improve their sanitary and hygienic practices during their stay in the school.

The president of the Rotary Club, Accra-East, Rtn Bright Semanu Attah said the donation was to help some of the basic challenges the pupils experienced daily.

He said the club would also finance the re-roofing of the classroom blocks and sponsor some of the pupils to undertake their studies in the school.
