Dear Obaa Yaa,
I am a 32 year old lady who is in a relationship with a young man of my age for two years now. Having found each other suitable, we are preparing to marry.
Although, my man possesses the qualities that I am looking for, he has developed bad breath recently, and I am finding it difficult to disclose it to him.
I don’t know if he has noticed this but I am beginning to feel uncomfortable in his company. What should I do?
Dear Obaa Theresa,
It is interesting to note that your man possesses the qualities you need in a future husband, and for that matter you should do everything to protect him.
You must be courageous to disclose this problem to your man in order to salvage his image. Probably, he is not aware of this problem which has the potential to embarrass him in public.
On the other hand, he could be aware of it but does not know how to surmount it.
About 25 per cent cases of constipation can cause bad breath. Others include bacterial growth between the teeth and the gum, dry mouth, yeast infection, pneumonia, chronic sinus infection, diabetes, chronic acid reflux, liver or kidney problems, and failure to brush and floss the teeth daily. The list is endless.
This problem can be treated by your doctor, since he developed recently.
